Melissa is a seasoned sales and marketing professional with a career spanning over two decades. With an undergraduate degree in Economics from Spelman College and an MBA from the Wake Forest University Babcock School of Management, Melissa has built a career at the intersection of strategic marketing, brand building, and consumer engagement.
Throughout her career, she has worked for top-tier companies, including Pfizer and Abbott, before joining Georgia-Pacific, where she has spent the last 12 years driving marketing strategies for billion-dollar brands such as Angel Soft and Quilted Northern. Known for her ability to collaborate and execute with excellence, Melissa currently serves as the Director of Consumer Experience, reporting into the Chief Marketing Office and leading strategic initiatives to enhance marketing capabilities across Georgia-Pacific.
In her current role, Melissa is focused on building stronger, more capable marketers by helping teams maximize agency relationships, develop breakthrough content, and deliver work to the world that is inclusive, authentic, and culturally resonant. Her leadership is rooted in a belief that great marketing not only drives business results but also reflects and respects the diverse communities it serves.
Beyond her professional accomplishments, Melissa is deeply passionate about the empowerment and development of the Black community, especially women of color. Outside of work, she enjoys playing tennis, attending the theatre, reading historical fiction, and spending quality time with her husband, two young daughters, and their dog.
