Enrique Chiabra is the News Anchor for Telemundo 52’s weekday early evening newscasts, Noticiero Telemundo 52 a las 5 p.m., 5:30 p.m., 6:00 p.m. y 11 p.m. and anchors Noticias California en Vivo at 7 p.m. across digital platforms.  Telemundo 52 is Telemundo’s West Coast Flagship television station, delivering nearly 30 hours of local news to audiences in Southern California including breaking news coverage, up-to-the-minute weather forecasts, and entertainment.

Chiabra joined Telemundo 52 in 2016 as the News Anchor for the station’s weekday morning newscast, Noticiero Telemundo 52 a las 5 a.m. y 6 a.m. In 2018, he was named News Anchor for the weekday evening newscasts at 5:30 p.m., 6 p.m. and 11 p.m.

Prior to joining Telemundo 52, Chiabra held various positions at Univision Sacramento KUVS such as weekend news anchor, reporter and video journalist. Before moving to Sacramento, he worked at Univision Palm Springs for four years where he served as a news director and anchor among other positions.

Chiabra’s storytelling and keen journalism has earned him a GLAAD media award, a Ruben Salazar award in 2021 and 16 Emmy awards, one of them in 2024 for special investigation into silicosis: the disease that affects the lungs of workers who cut and polish kitchen and bathroom countertops.

Chiabra, a native of Peru, earned his bachelor’s degree in Sociology from UCLA in Los Angeles, California and a master’s degree in mass communication and journalism from Florida International University.  He also completed a postgraduate leadership program at the University of Chicago and worked with USC’s Center for Health Journalism.
