Kelly Cutler is an Associate Professor at Northwestern University, with over 25 years of experience as a leader in digital marketing, communications, and business strategy. Her career spans influential roles at Classified Ventures, Cars.com, and AOL, culminating in the successful launch and sale of a specialized digital marketing agency.
Since joining Northwestern in 2016, Kelly has taught across Kellogg, Medill, SPS, and McCormick, with a focus on Digital Marketing, Visual Communication, and the impact of AI on digital marketing. In addition to teaching, she serves as Associate Director of Research at Medill’s Spiegel Research Center, where her work focuses on applied research in digital marketing and generative AI. Kelly is an active publisher. Her book, Search Marketing: A Strategic Approach to SEO and SEM, was published by Kogan Page in 2023.
Beyond academia, Kelly is active in philanthropy, including serving as board member for non-profits including True Nature Healing Arts and the Kindness Connection. In her personal time, she enjoys global travel with her family, seeking inspiration and new experiences.
