Neil Frauenglass
CMO / Visit Philadelphia

VISIT PHILADELPHIA®’s Chief Marketing Officer Neil Frauenglass thought leads brand messaging for the tourism marketing organization. He oversees strategy, advertising, social media, activations, and content creation. Frauenglass joined Visit Philadelphia in 2019 with a mission to deepen national and regional appreciation for and attraction to the ever-forward-looking birthplace of democracy. In doing so, his collaboration-centered efforts generate positive economic impact within and beyond the city.

Frauenglass leads his team in bringing to life creative, authentic marketing that inspires visitation to Philadelphia. Recent successes include In Pursuit of a More Perfect Union, emphasizing the city’s long-held commitment to welcoming diverse visitors. The campaign employed both conventional and innovative tactics — notably, placing Little Freedom Libraries of banned books by diverse authors throughout the city, and organizing the world’s largest drag queen storytime at the National Constitution Center, certified by the Guinness Book of World Records. Frauenglass also oversees a civic pride campaign featuring hyper-targeted messaging throughout the 11-country region, and a partnership with the TED organization which launched the TED Democracy series in the birthplace of America.

Such efforts have earned Frauenglass multiple accolades. In 2024 alone, he appeared on Campaign US’s “40 Over 40” list, received the Philadelphia Business Journal’s Corporate Leadership Award and was included on Philadelphia Gay News’ “48 Most Influential LGBTQ+ Leaders” list as well as Metro Philadelphia’s “LGBTQ+ Power Players” list. Recognitions he shared with his team include a Skift IDEA Award for Creative Thinkers in Marketing, multiple PR Daily, Telly and HSMAI Adrian awards, and more.

Frauenglass helms the marketing committee of Coalition 2026, the cohort of organizations coordinating events, funding and marketing around Philadelphia's year-long commemoration of the United States’ semiquincentennial — the country’s 250th anniversary. He serves on the boards of the Philadelphia Horticultural Society and the Ministry of Awe, a multimedia art space in Old City, Philadelphia, and is president emeritus of the Elfreth’s Alley Association.

Prior to joining Visit Philadelphia, Frauenglass was Executive Vice President and co-head of Account Management for McCann Erickson, where he’d previously served as Senior Vice President of New Business, servicing clients such as Qualcomm, Mastercard and Coca-Cola. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Corporate Communications, Advertising, and Public Relations from Ithaca College. Frauenglass and his partner live on historic Elfreth’s Alley, where they moved on a whim after just two weekend visits from New York to Philadelphia.
