Executive Director, Equity, Diversity, Inclusion, & Belonging Executive Director / McKinney
As Executive Director of Equity, Diversity, Inclusion, and Belonging (EDIB) at McKinney, Chandra Guinn stands at the powerful intersection of sociology, education, and advertising. With over two decades spent cultivating human potential, Chandra approaches EDIB through an equity-first lens, fostering systemic change rather than surface-level diversity. Her philosophy is clear: true innovation emerges when we optimize diversity in both beings and thinking with shared objectives.
Her influence is local and extends globally. She has spoken in Davos at the World Woman Foundation and on stage at the Cannes International Festival of Creativity. She has moderated a panel at The One Club’s "Where Are All The Black People" and facilitated a workshop for the 3% Movement. As a judge for the inaugural Anthem Awards and Shorty Impact Awards, she shapes standards for excellence across the industry. Locally, she serves on the Pauli Murray Center for History and Social Justice and the Durham Arts Council boards.
"I believe the fruits of advertising are everywhere, but the on-ramps remain hidden," she says. Her mission is to make the invisible visible—both in who creates advertising and who is authentically represented within it.
With academic credentials (BA/MA in Sociology) and boundless creativity, Chandra leads with curiosity, sustains with humility, and advances with courage. She's not just creating inclusive spaces—she's building the foundation for more authentic, resonant creative work that amplifies purpose in our complex media landscape.
