Mike McGawn is VP, Deputy General Counsel – Operations for Chipotle Mexican Grill, where he leads the teams managing litigation, employment law, and legal support for privacy, cybersecurity, marketing, real estate, and a number of areas of commercial contracting. He also oversees Chipotle’s insurance and other risk transfer programs. Prior to his current role, Mike was Chipotle’s lead securities and corporate governance counsel for a number of years, having joined the company shortly after its IPO in 2006. Mike works from the company’s headquarters in Newport Beach and began his career as a corporate and securities lawyer in the Denver office of a national law firm. He has an undergraduate degree from Northwestern University and a J.D. from the University of Colorado School of Law.
