Jo McKinney is a visionary leader at the forefront of helping businesses unlock AI's full potential through strategy and building transformative AI capabilities. After a successful tenure as CEO of Burns Group—where she drove significant growth and participated in the company's acquisition —Jo redirected her passion and expertise to AI-transformation. As Chief Growth Officer of BOI, an AI Innovation Company, she employs a future-back and present-forward approach, partnering with companies to reimagine every workstream and workplace, for an AI-native future.
Prior to her current endeavors, Jo served as both CEO and Chief Strategy Officer at Burns Group. There, she built the brand consultancy from the ground up and launched BrandInformers, an industry-leading innovation and co-design practice. She is also the founder of BGIN, a brand accelerator that has transformed over 30 products into brands through rapid-fire sprints.
Jo began her career at Grey Advertising and later served as Director of Integrated Marketing for Mondelez Europe in Belgium before returning to the U.S. Throughout her career, she has worked in innovation, strategy, and marketing with diverse and leading global brands. Passionate about leveraging technology and creativity to drive equality, she has led initiatives for prominent organizations such as Catalyst, The Female Quotient, and Luminary.
Jo serves on the Advisory Council for Entrepreneurship at Cornell University, her alma mater. She is a frequent guest lecturer at Harvard and Cornell and a speaker at major industry events including SXSW, Advertising Week, and Cannes Lions.
Outside of work, Jo is a founding member of Chief, a member of The Board, and serves as the Director of the non-profit Through The Eyes of Children.
