Sharifah Niles-Lane is an award-winning marketing and communications executive and the Senior Vice President, Content and Social Media Strategy at Citizens Financial Group, one of the largest and most respected banks in the United States. With nearly 20 years of experience in social media, digital, and content marketing, Sharifah is known for building high-performing teams, driving innovation, and delivering measurable brand and business impact.
Sharifah has held senior digital marketing and social strategy leadership roles at Eastern Bank, Liberty Mutual Insurance, Houghton Mifflin Harcourt, and John Hancock, where her work earned several industry recognitions for creativity and impact. She has led transformative digital marketing campaigns with iconic brands and initiatives including Showtime, Universal Music – Decca, The Oprah Winfrey Show’s “No Phone Zone” Campaign, The Boston Marathon, Curious George and The TCS NYC Marathon, among others.
In 2023, Sharifah was named one of the Top Women in Marketing by PR Daily and Ragan Communications and was also featured by the Content Marketing Institute in their Women Leading Content and Marketing series in 2025.
Sharifah attended Hampton University in VA, and later graduated Magna Cum Laude from Newbury College in Brookline, MA, with a BA in Communications. She is passionate about mentorship, and community impact and currently serves on the Board of Directors for YW Boston, supporting the organization’s mission to eliminate racism and empower women.
