Brian Wenke is the Executive Director of It Gets Better, where he has helped evolve a grassroots storytelling movement into a global content and impact ecosystem for LGBTQ+ youth. Since stepping into the role in 2016, he has expanded the organization’s international reach, strengthened its affiliate network across multiple regions, and built cultural partnerships that have generated millions in support of queer young people.
Brian’s leadership centers youth voice, creative expression, and systems-level design. He is currently guiding the organization through the early stages of an AI-enabled transformation that aims to modernize storytelling workflows, strengthen program delivery, and position It Gets Better as a forward-thinking cultural institution. His hybrid approach blends nonprofit strategy with media-minded execution, ensuring the organization remains relevant to the next generation.
His work and commentary have been featured in Ad Age, ELLE, Vanity Fair, Forbes, Teen Vogue, and The Hollywood Reporter. He collaborates with Fortune 500 brands and creative studios, helping them build youth-centered campaigns that align purpose and impact.
Brian is a proud alumnus of the University of Cincinnati’s College-Conservatory of Music (BFA) and Brandman University (MBA). He lives in Los Angeles with his husband.
