2025 Nonprofit Growth Summit and Hill Day (In-Person Only)

This event is over.

The Nonprofit Growth Summit & Hill Day is the premier gathering for nonprofit professionals, changemakers, and advocates committed to driving meaningful impact and strengthening the sector.

The Summit is designed to equip nonprofits with practical strategies and tactics to navigate today’s evolving landscape. VOLUME VS VALUE: BUILDING A STRONG DONOR FILE

In this session, "Volume vs. Value: Building a Strong Donor File," Tabitha Glenn, VP of Direct Response at USO, and Shawnda Hollon, Senior Director of Stewardship and Donor Engagement, will share how the USO has strengthened and grown their donor file. They’ll emphasize the need to go back to basics—focusing on retaining donors, properly stewarding them, and, of course, acquiring new donors who are truly worth their weight in gold (or at least their weight in checks). The session will tackle the tricky balance between increasing donor volume and ensuring donor quality.

Key Takeaways:
  • Strengthen the Existing Donor File: You’ll learn how to keep your current donors so happy that they’ll want to send you flowers (or at least, send you more money) by improving your stewardship strategies.
  • Donor Acquisition Strategies: While bringing in new donors is important, the focus will be on finding high-quality ones who are in it for the long haul—no more "drive-thru" donors!
  • Balanced Approach to Volume and Value: The magic happens when you strike a balance between growing your donor file and keeping those you have engaged and happy. It’s not about just having a large list; it’s about having a list that’s worth its weight in gold.
